What is it?

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles at the bottom of the pelvis. It supports the bladder, uterus and bowel, and plays a role in continence and sexual health. Pregnancy, childbirth, menopause or repeated strain can weaken it or make it too tense.

After discussing your symptoms, your physiotherapist offers, with your consent, an assessment and a program of exercises and techniques adapted to you. You stay in control at every step.

  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Pelvic pain and pain during intercourse
  • Preparing for childbirth and postpartum recovery
  • Separation of the abdominal muscles (diastasis recti)

  • Some bowel problems, such as constipation
